The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists and alleged hitmen believed to be linked to a series of violent crimes and killings in the Ojo area of the state. The suspects were apprehended during an intelligence-led operation conducted at a hotel in Ajanmgbadi following credible information received by the police. According to the Command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, preliminary investigations revealed evidence connecting the suspects to violent criminal activities within Ajanmgbadi and neighbouring communities. A video reportedly recovered from one of the suspects’ mobile phones allegedly showed the killing of unidentified persons, while the suspects were also said to have confessed to being members of the Aiye Confraternity and admitted involvement in several attacks and killings that have terrorised residents in the area. Further searches led to the recovery of two locally fabricated pistols, one revolver, and 13 live cartridges. The police stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement and to identify and apprehend other accomplices.
